250 years later, the art of the neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova compares itself with the bodies portrayed by artists such as Newton and Mapplethorpe. It is a timeless encounter, in an exhibition at the MART Museum in Rovereto (Italy). It is a comparison far away in space and time, but overlapping both in the reflection of the glass that covers the images and in the desire to express the beauty and depth of a body. A male or female body that is always deep, mysterious and perfect. Perfect in physicality for Canova and perfect in its uniqueness for contemporary photographers.
