Lake Baikal is located in Siberia, Russia. The crystal-clear lake is the deepest (1642 meters), the oldest (25–30 million years), the coldest and the largest freshwater lake in the world. When I went there in late February, the temperature was around -5°C~-37°C. The main vehicles driven on frozen Lake Baikal are mostly hovercrafts and sometimes Russian UAZ. Walking on the sleek and icy Lake Baikal is a fantastic experience. From frozen methane bubbles to different engravings of icicles, ice crystals, ice caves, ice blocks, and ice cracks all make me appreciate the beauty of pristine nature.

Currently live in Taipei, Taiwan. Have lived in the US for about 25 years in the past. The years I spent in different places gives me multi-culture experience and helps me discover the world from different cultural perspectives. I consider myself a visual person, like to see beautiful things ranging from scenery, architecture to wildlife, etc. I can be reached at pistachu9@gmail.com.
