Autumn and Winter In Close Proximity

On a sharply cool late fall morning, we were treated to a beautiful scene on the border between fall and winter. The birch and many larch trees were glistening white from the frost, but a few larch trees still had their autumn leaves. While the sight of red and white all around is beautiful, such a scene, which reminds us of the transition and continuity of the seasons, is more appealing to me.
