This project reveals the emotions I experienced when I left my home and country with two little children, becoming refugees due to war. For 1.5 years, we lived in another country without knowing the language, without family, carrying only one suitcase. We fully adapted socially and otherwise, but being away, there was always a sense of missing something crucial, as if a significant part was absent for life to feel complete. Through familiar objects, I aimed to convey the state of "silent" emptiness that accompanied each day until our return home.

Oleksandra Mykhailutsa is a product and conceptual still-life photographer from Odesa, known for her imaginative compositions featuring everyday objects. While studying to be a family doctor, she pursued photography, with a focus on still life and macro work. After gaining experience in commercial photography, she found fulfillment in conceptual still-life, often using sweets and levitation in her creative scenes. Her work has earned her accolades on platforms like Talenthouse. Oleksandra now balances personal projects, education, and family life in Odesa.
