My "Meta Mama Operas" series illustrates my late mother's endlessly repeated stories and sayings. These composites communicate what it was like to be the child of an immigrant mother with a larger-than-life personality. They celebrate the love, dysfunction, irony, melancholy and humor of family life. Her words haunt me to this day.
