In Rome, in 2011 about two hundred people, seventy families, occupy a former sausage factory (Fiorucci), abandoned in 1978, in Via Prenestina. They are people of different ethnicities: Romani, Italians, Romanians, Peruvians, North Africans, Eritreans, Somalis. Activists, organized groups for the right to housing, support them and help protect this place. The inhabitants of the Metropoliz have been living together peacefully integrated with each other. A sentence of the court of Rome put Metropoliz at the top of the list of evictions.

Franco Buoncristiani lives in Rome and he is 57 years old. He works at Linde Material Handling Italia spa. He began to interest in photography in 1999. His photography is aimed at the social issues, particularly the Roman suburb and the new immigration. He mastered in photography in Bologna with Photo Image and Fulvio Bugani.
