The series draws attention to the annihilation of previous beliefs and the futility of worldly pursuits. Civilization changes what we view as beautiful through the passage of time reminding us that nothing can prevent decay and death, even of institutions and buildings. This moment of change creates fleeting images, emphasizing how man both sparks and creates destruction.
