This is a documentary about a community that lives and works in a landfill. Rain is scarce here and the constant prays seem not to be heard. Children who were born here do not know the world beyond the mountains on the horizon and have to invent their own toys and games to have fun. Women are torn between hard work and the love and care they must give their children. Men fight tirelessly against a permanent and invisible enemy: hunger. This is a place where survival is part of destiny and where people seem to have been forgotten
Human condition has always fascinated me and its study has been a main driver in my work. More than an aesthetic purpose, I intend my photography to arouse feelings, emotions, and convey messages, by telling stories that depict suffering or joy, despair or mutual help, strength or disappointment, or simply resilience in the face of adversity and uncertainty about the future.
