"HK852" is a photo book regarding the waves of emigration in Hong Kong. In recent years, the word "immigration" began to shift from a joke among friends to a serious and sensitive topic because of "some" social reason. In order to protect the interviewees, the photographers avoided their faces when taking pictures. Many HongKongers who are going to immigrate expressed their sadness and concerns about leaving Hong Kong. This photo collection documents as truthfully as possible everything happening in Hong Kong right now and the thoughts of every immigrant Hong Konger.

Chan Hoi Tat, Bentat is currently a year-4 student at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, focusing on photography. His works mainly revolve around landscapes and animals, he has also worked as a commercial and event photographer for various brands and organizations. His works have won awards in the CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year competition, the National Geographic Photography Contest, and the International Photography Awards (IPA). He firmly believes that photography is a universal language and a journey of self-expression.
