At first glance, life in the Ukrainian city of Lviv appears to be just as it ever was before Russia’s invasion. Despite this, after multiple trips to the area reveal a city irreparably changed by the conflict. Even far from the frontlines, Lviv has been heavily affected, as troops from the region continue to be deployed to the front lines, multiple funerals for the fallen soldiers take place every week, night curfew patrols by paramilitary civic initiatives, amputee soldiers recovering programs and heritage protection or animal rescue are part of the new landscape.
