Were the Troubadours of Greek, Celtic and Iberian origins? Were the Etruscans distant ancestors as well? Their Goddess slept in the mud, under temple pillars. We stumble on tombstones in the olive groves. Maybe not all is lost, maybe their secrets reveal themselves in the love-songs (de Minneliederen) of the Troubadours, in their tales of Chivalry; the tales of Arthur, of Merlin and of Percival. Her kiss reveals a burning love, a flame that never died; its reflections are cast all around the lake where flowers touch the sky and where the nightingale’s song arises higher still. It’s a promise.

Margrieta was born under Northern skies, in the Netherlands. She has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Italy, Algeria, the Caribbean, Chile, Portugal and Romania. During her biology studies with a major in philosophy at Wageningen (the Netherlands), Margrieta started with a variety of studies in bronze casting, painting, etching and ceramics. Her work embraces poetry, sculpture, but her main creative outlet is photography.  Loving and using anything analogue from 35mm to a wholeplate camera. You can find her photography books here: www.margrij.com/dagdroombookseditions.
