This monochromatic series "Tokyo From Above" is a study of Tokyo's urban fabric. Skyscrapers proliferate with redevelopments of business areas,choreographed to comply with the complex spatial rules. Dotted with old and new, Tokyo's cityscape provides a glimpse of the dynamics of the 14 million inhabitants in Japan's most populous city.

Gigi Chung is a San Francisco-based fine-art photographer who mainly works in medium-format digital photography. She has come to focus on architectural abstracts with a minimalistic approach. Her art work has been exhibited in multiple galleries and museums in Athens, Chania, Cormons, Glasgow, Greenville, Portland, Minneapolis, Taipei, Trieste, Tokyo, San Francisco and Vermont. Some of Chung’s recent accolades include being selected as Kyotographie KG Plus featured artist, Tokyo International Foto Awards Top 5 Jury Pick and Architecture/Interiors Winner at 16th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards.
