This work explores the idea of a future world affected by climate change and the absurdity of living "normally" in such conditions by utilizing AI technology. These are self-portraits and by positioning myself as both subject and observer, I invite viewers to question their own place within these bizarre and unfathomable realities. The flooded environments depicted emphasize the inherent challenges we may face when attempting to reconcile our lives with a climate altered world.
Erin Quinn is an Irish-Canadian award winning visual/olfactory artist whose photographic work has been exhibited internationally. Her first practice is primarily rooted in fine art photography while also working with scent, creating conceptual olfactory art installations. Her most recent work uses AI to create her visual art, incorporating her own photographs (sometimes self-portraits), screen shots from news, social media, vintage public domain images as well as text prompts.
