Delving into the stories of more than 80 surfers, we uncover how a shared passion can rejuvenate a village-like community and the benefits it holds. We explore how a shared love can break down barriers of age and diversity — a process that nurtures both mental and physical well-being, while enhancing comprehension of the world we inhabit. Sam Howard is a professional lifestyle and adventure photographer from the North East of Scotland. He became fascinated by photography after purchasing a camera to record memories of a surf trip through Africa. Photography has allowed him to spend more time with the sports and environments he loves. Exploring remote locations around the world surfing, skiing and mountain biking. In Scotland We Surf project started in 2021 exploring the stories of a hidden cold water culture. We explore the power of community in the modern world and the mental and physical health benefits of the ocean.
