With the project “Afghanistan: Roses under the thorns I use flowers as the common thread to share my vision of a country that has been torn apart by conflicts for the past forty years. The centrality that nature and beauty have in my work, willingly stand out and are in contrast with the horrors and violence that Afghan people experienced daily. Flowers are a symbol of life - however fleeting and fragile they may be - and represent beauty within reach and the delicate reconciliation of humans and nature. This work is is an intimate promenade in a country that cannot be reduced to its tragedies
