"One Of A Kind", published in 2021 by Hatje Cantz, is a series of portraits made in Europe, Asia, Africa, Jamaica, and the United States, that examines the diversity and complexity of the human experience through portraiture. The series began with a portrait of my mother, who had multiple sclerosis. Each succeeding photograph referenced it by focusing on finding beauty in character, uniqueness and the imperfections in the human spirit that make it whole, while honoring my conviction that there is a truth at the heart of humanity that can be captured with a camera.
