The Gaucho is a legendary figure of the South American areas.He is a skilled knight,farmer and breeder;tied to traditions in the way of dressing and living alone in rural environments,with a strong desire for freedom.In the Rio Mitre estancia,in the endless prairies of Patagonia,I meet Pol.The strong empathy that bound us immediately led me to stop and listen to him for days.After the loss of his wife and daughter in an accident,Pol chose to live this gaucho life.The estancia is for him a place in which to disperse the memories of the past and which leads him to "research" himself every day.
Paola Gallo Balma was born in 1982 She graduated in the master's degree at the Polytechnic of Turin in the first faculty of Architecture. During the same university years she approached photography as a self-taught. Architecture and photography become two paths of analysis, visual design and personal research that travel parallel. She thus collaborates at the same time both in architectural studios and with several local photographers. In recent years, driven by the desire to improve, she decides to attend some workshops and approaches authorial photography.
