One Sunday's afternoon during the pandemic year of 2020, multiple groups of Hongkongers sitting alone or pairs were captured in frame, who were spending their weekend's time under the skylight of a shopping mall atrium. To tackle COVID-19, the Hong Kong government has enforced by law to prohibit group gatherings of more than four persons in public places, therefore every group of people were all maintaining a minimum 1.5 meter 'social distance' from other groups of people. The walking person is an officer performing his duty to make sure the public comply with such legislation.

Born in 1994, Jason Au is an award-winning fine art photographer based in Hong Kong. He specialises in black and white photography and has a specific interest in street photography and portraiture. His high aesthetic works often incorporate creative, geometric and balanced compositions, with prominent use of contrasting light and shadows, along with dynamic interplay between texture and forms.
