When I was printing my new book on Rio de Janeiro, Águas de Ouro, at in Italy, I noticed the way my photos combined on the metal sheets that were left over after the proofs were made. On these sheets, called scarti, meaning scraps in Italian, the photos associate and merge by chance to create new and daring compositions. I took them as inspiration for the project I have been working on during the quarantine.
