The wood of the Guayateca cypress has been a source of subsistence for the Chileans of the deep south for many years. Exported throughout the country and abroad, especially to England, this practice continues today.Chilean lumberjacks have to face isolation, bad weather condition and scarcity of resourses. Spending long isolated days they live continuous psychological introspections on existence, on spirituality and on the relationship with nature. A continuous struggle against everything and against themselves... fighting to survive.
