I have created a mask that does not hide but reveals what is going on below the surface. Every day I struggle with my own mind, my thoughts, I create scenarios, I make cognitive distortions. All my cells are shaking, my perception is distorted. It is often said by those who know me: but you don’t seem to be! My self-portrait distorted by the structure, shows how I fall apart inside. The mask is made of kombucha leather, a leathery, translucent, culturable and living material. I am part of the process, I create the medium for its development, like for my own anxieties.
