I explore Finnish freshwater underwater landscapes. The underwater world is barren, ancient and mystical. When I am in the water, I relax and become one with another world—a world that has always been very close, but still far away—the concept of time changes. There is only now, breathing and observation. From the shore, you can see the surface of the water in its entirety, but beneath awaits a great mystery. With my pictures, I want to bring out that invisible world. My artistic expression does not follow the traditional nature photography, but my works ask questions and convey emotions.
