"Patagonia Rising" was taken during a visit to Torres Del Paine National Park, in the Patagonia region of South America. While composing this photo, I wanted to showcase the impressive size of the setting moon against the extraordinary peaks of Las Torres. After careful planning, a bit of patience, and the help of Photopills, the moon's trajectory placed it exactly where I had envisioned capturing it. I decided to shoot this image at 420mm, which allowed me to compress the view of the moon, and bring it forward in the scene, to create an almost surreal perspective.
