In Your Place - Infibulation

This work focuses on the cruel practice of infibulation, which has affected 125 million women worldwide. It is one of the worst abuses on girls, which deprives them completely and forever of the possibility of experiencing sexual pleasure. I worked on advertising photographs taken from fashion magazines for children. I manipulated them with old laces, fabric and sewing thread taken from a family collection of materials belonging to my mother. I tried to put myself in a far situation, by weaving a theme of social injustice to my personal story and my feelings about it.
