Saving Lives In Afghanistan'S Border Regions.
Dr. Zamaryalai Ghafori calls for assistance as he and his fellow doctors attempt to stem the bleeding of an Afghan Border Police officer injured in a Taliban attack. Staff at Spin Boldak regional hospital, on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border, lack even basic infrastructure like reliable electricity and water. Undersupplied and understaffed, these doctors put themselves at risk daily to continue providing care to both civilians and military personnel in the area.
I'm a Canadian/Australian freelance photographer, working mainly in Afghanistan.
My work deals with issues of migration, social disruption, and cultural dislocation in the wake of conflict.
