The smiles, the laughter, the questions, the smells, sounds, families, dogs, horses, colors and textures …the Irish Travellers! I arrived at the halting sites in Western Ireland last year to learn about this remarkable group of people and their unique way of life. How have they managed to keep their centuries-old traditions and customs in the midst of a modern, ever changing society? Is there a cost? How are they different? How are they the same? In this series, made with analog film, I aim to show something that is apart, yet a part of us all.
