BIFA 2025 Winner, 1st Place, Professional Nature, “Moravian Tuscany”
Q: How has using a drone changed your artistic perspective on landscapes, and how did it specifically help you capture the unique “undulating” feel of the Kyjov Hills?
Hills of Moravian Tuscany are very worldknow around 10 year, and its very hard to find some new places, photography with a drone give me unlimited possibilities for finding new places and give me totally freedom. With drone you can make photos which are impossible to make from standing on earth.
Q: You photograph both architecture and landscapes. Do you find that your eye for the clean, geometric lines of architecture influences how you compose the natural, flowing lines of the Moravian fields?
Its dificult to say what make more influences if architekture on landscape or opossite, 13 years ago i moved to Prague for beatifull architecture , but i chosse her not just for building but for reason a many parks and trees in the city. When i am on Petrin hill near Prague castle, you can feel like a bird in nature without a crowded places in centre, i love both architecture and landscape, and a part of my photos of Prague are making a perfect combination of both.
Q: Could you share some insights into the equipment and techniques you used? Is there a particular lens or camera setting you always rely on?
Camera setting i have just always in manual mode because i want to have control above situation and no automatic settings. Two years i am using nikon Z8 what give me unlimited possibilities in photography with combination of photographic filter from VFFoto. But what most open me new world was using drone DJI AIR3s in nature and in Prague, because only with drone we have amazing possibilities for creation and freedom.
Q: What does winning 1st place in the Nature category in BIFA mean to you, both personally and professionally?
13.7.2025 was exactly 20 years from buying me first camera in my life and this winning of 1 place its nice satisfaction of 20 years of my work, which i trying to move towards every day.
Q: If you could work on any photography project in the world, unrestricted by budget or location, what would be a dream project you’d love to pursue?
I was born in winter, so light winter condition is no problem for me, this winter i was at Tromso what was amazing with aurora borealis. Greenland could be nice, but most amazing nature have Canada or Peru mountains. This year i fullfilled my two photographic dreams about Prague, one autumn and one winter photo, we will see maybe Peru mountaing and greenland are behind the door…

photo tips.
this year it was 20 years what i am using nikon camera, i am very happy that nikon came on market with model Z8 because its giving me unlimited posibilities for my creativity, and it doesnt matter if am under charles bridge in Prague , or in mountain or if i am trying to make photography of stars at canaries. Its good to have good lenses but it matter what are you phtoography, because when i am going just lightly walk via christimas prague a lot of time i have just lenses with 4 apreture, but if i know i am going to hard condition of light for example stars photography, there is needed professional lenses with 2,8 apreture. What was nice jump in my carrier using photographic filters from Vffoto , because they helped me with creativity all days, During daylight you can used ND filter for long exposure to make bloor water or sky, what i used by series golden masarycka one year ago. This winter i am playing very offen with black mist filter from Vfotto what help me created scenery like one hundred years ago.
Moravian tuscany,
everything was started in year 1982 when i was born, I was born in small city Skalica which is only 30km from moravian tuscany. What is to laught before move to Prague i have no idea what amazing hills i have near my city. Photography of moravian tuscany started around 10 years ago, when was moravian tuscany very popular , what are amazing small hills in south of moravia in czech republic, its nice that this hills are not heave for walk so you can take all equipment what you have. very offen we used lenses from wide 14mm to teleobjectiv 400mm. 10 years ago drone photography was on the start and in this time i just dreamed that one day i will have my dron for watching like a birds.
two years ago i bought my first drone but image quality was good, but not excellent and i was not so motivated for using him very offten. Everything change in spring 2025 when i decided to buy new model from Dji Air3s what have amazing image and video quality and my creation was exploded. What was amazing before buy a drone i dont know that very soon in 4 month will be change the rules of flying in czech republic, and a lot of places will be open and possible by drone without special persmision.
